A dry radiator is a heater that does not use any oil or gel, such as oil filled radiators, to heat up. Instead, it uses a dry material, usually clay, ceramic, or aluminium to heat. Therefore, they are often known by a few different names as it’s usually based on the material it uses. This includes clay core electric radiators, ceramic core electric radiators, and aluminium core radiators. A dry heater is designed to heat up both quickly and efficiently whilst you are in the room, ensuring that no heat energy is wasted when you do not require it. An electrical element is used to heat the core material which is then pushed into the air in your room.
The benefits of dry radiators, such as clay core heaters and aluminium radiators, are clearly there for everyone to see. They heat up quickly offering instant heat and provide excellent heat retention so that when it has switched off, it continues to heat at no added cost to you. Many feature automatic switch off controlled by a built-in thermostat. This tells it to switch off once the required temperature has been reached meaning that you do not waste money on excessive heating. Great for heating up small spaces, there auto switch off makes them very safe to have around as there is little chance of them overheating and causing risk of fire.
